Salomon Rondon move to Everton hits big complication

Salomon Rondon’s proposed move to Everton has hit a stumbling block on deadline day, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper have reported this morning [pg.71] that the deal has been complicated by money owed to the attacker by Dalian Professional.

The Chinese club, previously managed by Rafa Benitez have since sent Rondon on loan to CSKA Moscow, but still appear to be financially troubled by the striker.

It is unknown whether this could scupper the deal, but all parties look desperate to get a deal over the line.

Rondon and Benitez want a reunion at Goodison Park, and he ticks the box as a rotation option for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Earlier in August, the Daily Mail reported that financial issues are hitting Dalian hard this year.

It was suggested that Rondon could have his contract torn up, despite it running until the end of 2022 – something that had Everton on red alert.

Get it done.

That issue is between Rondon and Dalian, and hopefully it means Everton can get this deal over the line and worry about that later.

Whether a deal cannot be concluded until that financial matter is solved is another problem, but the Toffees will pray not.

With Moise Kean and James Rodriguez expected to leave today, business is needed in the final third.

Hopefully, there can be a cheap deal concluded for Rondon despite these complications – something that could open the door to another big move in the final third.
