Everton star James Rodriguez could still leave
Everton star James Rodriguez could still leave Goodison Park for a move to either Turkey, Portugal or Russia, according to the Liverpool Echo.
They claim that most of Everton’s transfer deadline day plans were scuppered because they failed to find a suitor for the 30-year-old, but he could still leave with the transfer window not yet closed in Turkey, Portugal or Russia.
However, the problem for clubs in these countries will be matching Rodriguez’s wage demands, considering he is on over £200,000 per week at Goodison.
Will Rodriguez move on?
Porto had wanted to bring the former Real Madrid man back, but Rodriguez’s wage demands ended that deal.
AC Milan also had a look, but they decided against signing Rodriguez.
So, he now faces the prospect of sitting in the reserves as Rafael Benitez probably has no intention of using him, or he can find a move to Russia, Turkey, or Portugal.
The best thing for both him and Everton would be if he could agree a deal with one of the clubs from these countries, or the Toffees will continue having to shell out huge wages while the playmaker’s career could stagnate.
So, we hope he comes to his senses and does make a move abroad while he still can.
In other Everton news, the Toffees could look at signing one player again after his deadline day move collapsed.
