Everton Super Fans rip into James Rodriguez

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Everton Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Goodison News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Goodison Park.

Everton Super Fans have flocked to a post on the Goodison News Facebook page about James Rodriguez potentially still leaving the club.

The transfer windows in Turkey, Russia, and Portugal are still open, so the 30-year-old could still get his move out of Goodison Park rather than rot in the reserves [Liverpool Echo].

Rafael Benitez is not expected to have Rodriguez in his plans, so if he were to stay with the Toffees, then we can’t see him getting much game time.

However, if he were to stay, it is safe to say that many of these Super Fans wouldn’t be happy.

Will Rodriguez leave?

The Colombian infuriated Everton fans earlier in the summer when he admitted he didn’t know who the Toffees were playing in a game [Rodriguez’s Twitch account 19/08/2021].

This has clearly not been forgotten by our Super Fans, who want the former Real Madrid man out of the club.

The best solution for the player and Everton is if the Colombian can find a move to Turkey, Russia, or Portugal.

However, his wages exceed £200,000 per week, and we can imagine that many clubs will struggle even to come close to matching his current wage.

So, the Toffees could end up being stuck with an unhappy player on massive wages, which we can’t imagine would go down too well with our Super Fans.

In other Everton news, one player who the club wanted rid of is set to stay and play in the first team.
