Ian Wright tips Everton attacker Demarai Gray for England future
Ian Wright believes Demarai Gray is an England player in waiting after enjoying a good start to life at Everton.
Gray was Everton’s only summer signing that came with a transfer fee as the rest were all free agents.
He has been one of the Toffees’ prime goal scoring threats, scoring two goals in their three Premier League games.

Discussing his impact on the Wrighty’s House podcast, Wright said, “People are already saying, watch what will happen to him, he’ll fade out.
“I pray that he can hold this consistency because that’s a player who, with his ability and attributes, is another England player in waiting if he can do that.
“He’s still only 25. If the penny drops it’s problems and danger for everyone.”
Big claim
Gray’s signing did not create too much excitement on Merseyside, but given the way he’s started this season, he’s already looking like one of the buys of the summer.
He can play on either side of the attack and can also be deployed as a number 10 should Richarlison miss out or if Benitez decides to play a 4-2-3-1.

At 25, he’s got a few levels to kick on, and under the right manager, he could be sensational in the coming years.
It’s important that the club take good care of him, especially given the uncertainty surrounding James Rodriguez.
Should Benitez manage to get the Colombian onside, him and Gray would be terrifying to watch behind the attacking duo of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.
