Ancelotti criticised after Benitez is nominated for award after strong start at Everton
Ben Grounds has criticised Carlo Ancelotti as Rafael Benitez was nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award at Everton.
The Sky Sports journalist revealed on his Twitter account that he believes that the Everton players are now being coached again and questioned what Ancelotti could have achieved with a tiny transfer budget.
Certainly, the Spaniard deserves huge credit for the way he has started at Goodison Park, despite having only spent a tiny amount of money on improving his squad.
Does Ancelotti deserve criticism?
While the Italian was with the Toffees, Everton signed the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan for large fees.
They also handed a huge contract to James Rodriguez, so he certainly spent more than his successor, and in his one full season with Everton, he only managed to finish tenth.
Therefore, we can see why Grounds has had a dig at Ancelotti, but it is still probably too early to make a judgement on Benitez yet.

He has had a fantastic start, and the signs look positive, but we are only four games into his reign, and things could change.
We hope they don’t, but football is a funny game, and it is hard to predict what might happen.
Either way, though, Grounds has had his say on Ancelotti, and you would think it could provoke some discussion on the Italian’s time at Goodison.
