Everton Super Fans have flocked to a post on the Goodison News Facebook page about Seamus Coleman.
Rafael Benitez confirmed that the 32-year-old was likely to be fit and ready to play against Burnley after he pulled out of international duty with an injury [Liverpool Echo].
There were fears that the right-back was going to miss the clash on Monday night, which could have forced Benitez to play a centre-back out of position.
However, it seems as if he has avoided having to do that, and most of our Super Fans are buzzing.
Great news for the Toffees.
Coleman has been the Toffees’ first-choice right-back for years and years, and it is great to see that he is still a key player for Everton.
Of course, he can’t play forever, and the time will come for the Toffees to find a replacement, but for now, he is more than good enough to keep playing at a high level in the Premier League.
However, this injury scare should serve as a warning to the Toffees who desperately need to bring in another right-back for cover.
If Coleman does suffer a bad injury, then Benitez could be forced to play Ben Godfrey or Mason Holgate at right-back, which could be a problem.
There is Jonjoe Kenny but he has been told that he won’t be in Benitez’s plans [Liverpool Echo].
For now, though, most of our Super Fans are just pleased to hear that Coleman is fine and ready to play against Burnley under the lights at Goodison.
