Salomon Rondon tailor-made for Everton v Burnley – Kevin Campbell

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has insisted that Salomon Rondon is tailor-made to start for Everton against Burnley if needed this evening.

Rafa Benitez shared this week that Dominic Calvert-Lewin was still training with pain, and it looks touch and go whether he can start.

Campbell believes that the physicality expected at Goodison Park means the South American could be a perfect replacement.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I do.

“He is tailor-made for this game. He is big, strong, can get hold of the ball and he knows where the goal he is.

“Maybe not as mobile as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but he will be a big target for them to hit.”

All eyes.

Everyone will be anxiously waiting to see if Calvert-Lewin will be fit and available to start this evening against the Clarets.

That has been a major problem for many months now, with no real replacements waiting behind him as a backup.

Rondon is now here after joining up with Benitez, and he will be raring to get out and introduce himself to the Toffees faithful.

Burnley sit deep and stay compact, so sometimes the long ball could become a real weapon, and who better than Rondon to expose that?

Time to introduce yourself with a bang.
