Everton star Abdoulaye Doucoure appears to have evolved this season
Everton star Abdoulaye Doucoure looks like a different animal this season for the Toffees under the guidance of Rafael Benitez.
The Frenchman arrived at Goodison Park in September 2020, and he made 34 appearances last season under Carlo Ancelotti.
In those games, the former Watford midfielder scored three goals and provided three assists as he struggled to make a huge impact.

However, under the Spaniard, he has been fantastic and looks to have been given the freedom to wander forward and create carnage with Allan sitting and providing protection.
In four games this year, the 28-year-old has scored once and provided three assists and appears to be finally thriving under the guidance of Benitez.
So far this season, the Frenchman has been described as an “animal” by The Washington Newsday and is clearly a player who is enjoying his new freedom under Benitez.
Everton have had a fantastic start to the campaign, and Doucoure’s form and goal contributions have played a big part in that fantastic start.
The Frenchman is playing like the box-to-box midfielder that we all knew he was, and long may it continue.

You would think that if he keeps playing like this, then international recognition can’t be too far away.
Benitez has got plenty of things spot on so far, and freeing Doucoure is just one move that has worked out well so far.
The 28-year-old is performing brilliantly at the moment, and he has evolved into a different player who could threaten most teams in the Premier League.
