Brown-Finnis: Begovic save v Newcastle was unbelievable
Rachel Brown-Finnis was thrilled by Asmir Begovic’s save for Everton in the first half against Aston Villa on Saturday evening.
The Toffees ended up losing the game 3-0, but were in with a chance for the longest time, partly because of the Bosnian in goal.
Starting ahead of the injured Jordan Pickford, he performed exceptionally well in the first half before things went south quickly in the second half.

He made an exceptional save to deny Tyrone Mings, and Brown-Finnis, who’s a pundit for BT Sport, said on the Premier League’s half-time show, “Unbelievable save really. He had to push McGinn off of him to make it, which makes it all the more special.
“This is going to be the most unappreciated save for a while made by an underrated player.
“He’s got that experience and managed to make that save because of it.”
Rare enjoyable moment
At the full-time whistle, there was nothing left to cheer for the Everton faithful as they watched their side lost 3-0.
However, in terms of quality of chances created, both teams were on par, but it was the Villains’ luck on the day that led them to pick up maximum points.

It could have been a lot worse for the Toffees, but Begovic showed up and denied Mings.
In the second half it might be argued that he could’ve done more, but in the first, he was flawless.
He was drafted into the side after Pickford’s injury and did fairly what we expected him to do.
That said, Rafa Benitez would want Pickford back in the side as soon as possible as he’s not only a better shot stopper but is capable of contributing to the build up as well.
It remains to be seen how the Toffees can bounce back from their first loss of the new season.
