Rondon starts – Everton confirmed XI v Aston Villla
After playing an hour against Burnley, England international Ben Godfrey has been handed another start for Everton against Aston Villa.
New signing Salomon Rondon will look to play the role as the talisman as Rafa Benitez hands the Venezuela international his first Toffees start.
Richarlison has been the player to make way and is not among the substitutes either.
Asmir Begovic has also come in for Jordan Pickford, which has been a surprising change.
Benitez has decided to stick with Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray as the two wide players, while Alex Iwobi is also in the starting lineup.
Michael Keane may have been all over the place defensively, but a goal against Burnley was enough for him to keep his spot in the eleven.
James Rodriguez has not returned to the matchday squad and is not in contention for his first minutes of the season.
Seamus Coleman also misses out so Godfrey will play at right-back.
Must win
Three points against the Villains will see the Toffees return to the top four and temporarily sit in second place at the very least.
A convincing win could see them leapfrog local rivals Liverpool and sit at the summit of the Premier League.
Early days but it would be a signal of intent from Benitez’s side and would silence most of the negativity that has been there since his appointment.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin likely to return to the fray soon, we cannot wait to see how this Toffees attack will look.
Hopefully, Gray can continue his fine goal-scoring touch and bag a couple against Villa.
Abdoulaye Doucoure was incredible against Burnley and will be expected to deliver once again today.
