Everton waiting on James Rodriguez decision amid salary talks

Everton are reportedly waiting on James Rodriguez’s final decision as his representatives are in talks with Al Rayyan over a potential loan move.

According to Sky Sports Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano, they’re currently discussing the 30-year-old’s salary details.

An agreement is yet to be reached as they haven’t received the green signal from the Colombian so nothing has been signed as of now.

Via his personal Twitter account, Romano wrote, “Negotiations ongoing between Al Rayyan and James Rodriguez with his representatives. Talks over potential loan deal – now discussing salary details.

“Everton are still waiting for James final decision. Not signed/done as of now.”

Time to go

James’ high wages have been one of the reasons why the Toffees are looking to ship him off.

That’s why they’re willing to accept even a loan offer for him and may even look to pay a part of his wages in a bid to get most of his salary off the payroll.

Rafa Benitez also does not rate the player and by the looks of it, he has no intentions to play for the Spaniard either.

It will be a shame for the club to lose such a player, given his ability to turn games around in a heartbeat.

He’s undoubtedly the most talented name in the ranks at Goodison Park and will be missed heavily by a large chunk of the fanbase.

That said, it’s time Benitez moves on and makes a system good enough that it’s not reliant on any individual.
