James Rodriguez completes Al Rayyan medical ahead of Everton exit
James Rodriguez has finally given the green signal to leave Everton and join Al Rayyan and has already passed his medical, claims Sky Sports Italy’s Fabrizio Romano.
The 30-year-old had been flirting with an exit from Goodison Park and finally appears set to get his move.
Al Rayyan have already released an official teaser after agreeing the salary payment with the Everton board.
Via his personal Twitter account, the Sky Sports Italy journalist wrote, “James Rodriguez joins Al Rayyan from Everton, agreement reached and confirmed! Official teaser video already released from Qatari club – salary payment agreed with Everton board.”
“Medical already completed. James now set to leave European football.”
Here’s Al Rayyan’s teaser video, suggesting the deal is basically done.
Good riddance
This was a saga that dragged on for far too long and benefited nobody at the end of the day.
The Colombian’s first preference was certainly not a move to Qatar, but he wanted out of the club and now appears to have got his move.

There was an air of uncertainty when the links first emerged and many believed that he would turn down their offer due to his staggering wage demands.
However, the green signal is a good indicator as any that the deal has been agreed and he should be officially on his way out very soon.
There’s no mention of any loan fee in this tweet, but such deals usually include a compensation in one way or the other.
While it is far from ideal, Everton will take whatever they can get in order to part ways with the Colombian.
