
Ryan Mason sends message to Andros Townsend after Everton 2-0 win v Norwich
Everton bounced back from two straight defeats to secure a 2-0 victory over Norwich City at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The Toffees lost 3-0 to Aston Villa last weekend before getting dumped out of the League Cup by Queens Park Rangers during the week.
Despite their injuries woes, the Toffees strolled to an easy win against Daniel Farke’s men, with Andros Townsend and Abdoulaye Doucoure delivering the goals.
The 30-year-old English attacker has now scored four goals across all competitions since joining Everton in the summer, and former interim Tottenham Hotspur manager Ryan Mason is impressed with his start to life on Merseyside.
Townsend posted on his personal Instagram account after the game: “Another 3 points to the tally.”
His former teammate at Spurs was pleased, commenting “You’re flying.”
Huge bargain
Townsend joined the Blues for nothing, reuniting with Rafa Benitez after they worked together at Newcastle United.
With four goals and three assists in eight games to his name, the former Crystal Palace is slowly becoming a key player for Everton.
After the Eagles opted against handing him another deal, not many could have predicted his fine start to the season when the Toffees moved for him.
He has since scored a goal-of-the-season contender and the fans are loving his performances.
Townsend is not only about the goals and assists, with his hard work also helping the team a lot on the pitch.
Benitez admires his defensive efforts, and he was keen to work with such a player that gives his all again.
Everton have a veteran and quality attacker in their ranks, and if he continues at this rate, his dream of playing for England again [Everton TV] could come true.
