Everton trio of DCL, Richarlison, & Coleman predicted to miss the MUFC game

Adam Jones believes that Everton trio Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, and Seamus Coleman will miss the Manchester United game.

Speaking in the Liverpool Echo’s live Q & A session, the reporter was asked his view on the injured trio, and he doesn’t believe any of them will be fit.

Of course, this is just his view of the situation, and we are just at the beginning of the week, but things don’t look too good for the Toffees.

He said: “I would take things on face value at the minute and probably wouldn’t expect any of DCL, Richarlison or Coleman to play against United – but we all know how things have gone in the past.

“Perhaps if one of the trio starts really well in terms of their recovery this week, then they could maybe be involved, but would you want to risk potentially aggravating their problem further and having them miss more matches after the break?”

Jones makes a very good point.

Obviously, the ideal situation for the Toffees would be to have all three fit and ready to feature as fifth plays fourth.

However, if none of them are fully fit, why would you risk playing them and potentially make their injuries worse and rule them out for a longer period of time?

The Toffees have managed pretty well without Calvert-Lewin and have won two and lost one league game that he has missed.

Without Coleman in the side, Ben Godfrey has been forced to play at right-back, which is OK as a short-term solution, but they can’t be playing him there for too long.

So, you would ideally allow Coleman to miss the match against the Red Devils to ensure that he is fit and ready after the international break.

So Jones makes some very valid points here, and we agree with his conclusion.
