Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin in light training at Finch Farm ahead of Manchester United clash

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been spotted training at Finch Farm as Everton gear up for Saturday’s clash with Manchester United.

The England international, 24, has missed Everton’s last four games through toe and quad injuries, with Rafa Benitez suffering his first Blues defeats in that period.

Calvert-Lewin’s last game was on August 29 when he scored in a 2-0 win at Brighton, and it was suggested that he would not be back in Premier League action until after the next international break.

However, there could be an outside chance of him making the trip to Old Trafford this weekend, with Everton posting a training video on their Twitter that shows him back on the grass doing light work, as pointed out by The Athletic’s Patrick Boyland on his personal Twitter profile.

“Latest Everton training video ahead of Manchester United game shows Dominic Calvert-Lewin back on the grass doing light work,” he said.

Red Devils running scared?

The last thing Manchester United defenders will want to see on Saturday is the sight of Calvert-Lewin launching himself at a cross in their penalty area.

Calvert-Lewin struck 16 Premier League goals last season and he has scored in every game [three] he has played so far this campaign, and the most recent competitive visit [06/02/21] between the sides saw him net a dramatic 95th-minute equaliser in a 3-3 draw.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are on a tricky run at the moment, losing three of their last four games, and there are injury concerns surround star defenders Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

Even if the Blues centre-forward cannot last the duration on Saturday, or even start the game, he could prove to be a useful asset against the beleaguered Red Devils.
