Kevin Campbell reacts to worrying Everton sight as Jordan Pickford needs treatment
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Everton fans were left biting their nails as Jordan Pickford needed treatment yet again on Saturday against Norwich.
Kevin Campbell has insisted that the Toffees will need to monitor the situation closely ahead of the trip to Manchester United.
The former Everton striker believes that Asmir Begovic is a capable replacement, but can’t hand the side what Pickford can.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “Begovic is capable.
“I just think that the way Pickford uses the ball, especially with his feet, Everton lack that when Begovic is in.
“He’s a good stopper, but he’s nowhere near as good with his feet as Pickford so, maybe they needed to get him back.
“Moving forward, they’re going to have to monitor him as they don’t want to lose Pickford a long period of time.”

Problem?
Begovic started against Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers, and although making some brilliant saves, still conceded five goals.
Pickford returned against Norwich and made some saves of his own ahead of claiming yet another clean sheet.
As soon as the England international went down for treatment, there were some concerned faces and rightly so given his past problems.
Rafa Benitez will be hoping for positive news ahead of the trip to Old Trafford, and given he continued, it is likely that Pickford will start once again.
