Everton confirm starting XI v Manchester United

Everton have confirmed their starting XI against Manchester United for the early kick-off at Old Trafford today.

Rafael Benitez has made one change from the side that beat Norwich 2-0 as the Toffees look to move to the top of the table.

Jordan Pickford is fit and starts in goal.

Protecting him is a back four consisting of Ben Godfrey, Yerry Mina, Michael Keane, and Lucas Digne. Seamus Coleman is back in training but not fit enough to play.

Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure continue their brilliant midfield partnership, while Andros Townsend and Anthony Gordon take their place on the wings.

Salomon Rondon starts upfront with Demarai Gray just behind him.

Benitez limited.

With the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, and Alex Iwobi still injured, the Toffees have been left limited in what they can do.

Therefore, it is a big chance for Gordon to shine with other options not available.

The bench doesn’t look too strong with the likes of Charlie Whitaker and Lewis Dobbin [both 18] providing the only real attacking options should Everton struggle.

However, scoring goals has not been a problem this season for the Toffees, and we would expect that they will score at least a couple today against a dodgy Manchester United defence.

However, it remains to be seen if a couple of goals will be enough for the Toffees to take anything from Old Trafford, given the Red Devils’ attacking options.

Either way, it should be a fascinating match, and we can’t wait for it to get going.
