Alex Iwobi returns to Everton training after missing Man Utd clash

Everton have been handed an injury boost as Alex Iwobi has been spotted in full training with the rest of the team during the international break.

The Nigerian international forward, 25, missed the trip to Manchester United prior to the break due to a knock, but he is fully fit and should return to action when Premier League action resumes.

Everton released behind-the-scenes footage from Finch Farm on their official YouTube account, and Iwobi was among the players seen in full training.

Boost

The attacking midfielder has been involved in one goal in six Premier League games this term, weighing in with another goal in two League Cup appearances.

Iwobi is not the most influential player in the Everton squad, but he remains a key player in Rafa Benitez’s plans, and having him back is a welcome boost.

With Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin still not fully fit despite coming close, having someone capable of playing in attack should the duo fail to regain full fitness ahead of resumption hands the Toffees boss an option.

Everton host West Ham after the break on October 17, and there is still enough time for everyone to fully recover from their knocks.

Everton

The Blues have only lost one league game so far, winning four and drawing twice, and they will be keen to continue the campaign on an impressive note.

Having Iwobi and others back will be a massive boost, and another impressive run of games will help keep their top-six chances alive.
