Everton boss Rafael Benitez rules out Newcastle United switch
Rafael Benitez has ruled out the possibility of leaving Everton for his former club Newcastle United, according to The Northern Echo.
The Magpies are heading in a fresh direction following the Saudi Arabia-backed ownership at St James’ Park that saw the end of Mike Ashley’s tenure at the club.
A change in management is the new owner’s top priority, and Steve Bruce is likely to be sacked within the next few days.

The Magpies are sounding out various options, including Benitez, who is still seen as a massive hero among the Newcastle fans.
Now with Ashley gone, there are suggestions that Benitez could be tempted to return to the Tyneside club if there’s an offer on the table.
However, according to The Northern Echo, Benitez has categorically ruled out leaving Everton to join the Magpies.
Huge boost
Both Benitez and Amanda Staveley (co-owner) share links with Owen Brown, PCP’s football consultant, but the Spaniard has decided to stay on with the Merseyside club.

The 61-year-old has only been appointed in June and he feels it would be wrong to turn his back on the club that took a gamble on him despite knowing his previous connection with Liverpool.
The news will come as a huge boost for the club as Benitez is gradually winning over the fans after a strong start to the season.
Everton operated on a tight budget during the summer, but strong management has seen the Toffees climb to fifth in the Premier League table.
In other Everton news, the Toffees should be in pole position for one of their targets in January.
