Benitez not pleased with uninformed criticism from some Everton fans

Rafa Benitez is enjoying life as Everton manager following a solid start to the 2021-22 Premier League season that has yielded four wins and a loss.

The team got a deserved break following the 1-1 draw against Manchester United, and the Toffees have to learn how to manage their schedule ahead of the coming weeks and months.

They will be playing two more games this month and five next month before the busy festive period, and Benitez has to keep his squad in prime condition in order to keep this impressive form going.

His experience will come in handy in a bid to keep his players fresh, but he is not pleased with fans who constantly criticise the major squad and matchday decisions without knowing what happens behind the scenes.

The Everton boss told ECHO: “There are fans who go to the stadium, and there are social media fans. That is the problem now.

“Everyone has an opinion but they don’t know what is going on inside the club. You rotate players, especially in the cup. You have to play a strong team but sometimes you cannot play players because they cannot cope with another game and there is a massive risk of injuries.

“Maybe they have a problem on the night and you cannot explain it, or an injury you don’t want to reveal for the next game so it’s very difficult. You need to trust the manager then after you can make your own analysis.”

Trust the manager.

The boss is the boss for a reason, and it is always laughable when fans react to most decisions without having a background info.

With next month’s Merseyside derby on his mind, Benitez will be making some changes to his squad every now and then in order to give his team his best chance of winning.

Everton travel to Brentford on 28th November before hosting Liverpool two days later.

It is a tricky situation as the Premier League newcomers have proven to be a tough nut to crack, but Rafa will definitely find a way to ensure his side picks up impressive results in both games.

The Toffees are not particularly very solid in terms of quality squad depth, and they will need a lot of tinkering from now till January to maintain this brilliant form.

Benitez has enough experience and will be relishing the challenges ahead, and social media fans must learn how to take things easy.
