Jeff Stelling predicts Everton clash v Watford

Jeff Stelling predicts Everton to bounce back to winning ways when they take on struggling Watford at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Everton’s `perfect home record was ruined by West Ham last week when David Moyes’ team won 1-0 on Merseyside.

It was a very poor display by the Toffees but Stelling still feels they have enough about them to beat Watford 1-0 this week.

Everton

“Everton lost for the first time at home this season last weekend, while Watford were thrashed 5-0 at the hands of Liverpool,” Stelling wrote on the Super6 website.

“Claudio Raineri’s new side have failed to score in five of their eight Premier League matches, and this could be the case once more.

“It will not be a convincing victory for Everton but an important three points nonetheless.”

It won’t be easy…

Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure are all going to be missing this weekend so beating Watford isn’t as easy as it sounds.

Ranieri is bound to get the ball rolling with the Hornets at some point and we do fear that Rafa Benitez’s men might get into a bit of a rut after the loss to West Ham.

Everton are unlikely to be at full-strength for a while so we need to make the most out of matches against teams who’ll likely be in the battle against relegation this season.

But after watching some of the players play against the Hammers last week, we have to be a bit worried.

Salomon Rondon and Alex Iwobi were awful versus Moyes’ side but they are both probably going to start again against Watford.

Benitez knows what he’s doing and we do trust him based on the work he’s done so far.

But this isn’t going to be a walk in the park for the Blues.
