Max Aarons answers Fabrizo Romano transfer questions amid early 2021 Everton pursuit
Norwich City right-back Max Aarons, heavily linked with a move to Everton earlier this year, has answered questions over his future in an interview with Fabrizio Romano.
The 21-year-old appeared on the Italian journalist’s Twitch channel on Thursday to discuss a variety of talking points, but towards the end, attention turned towards transfers.
Aarons was reportedly on Everton’s radar earlier this year, with Romano himself writing via his Twitter account were in pursuit of the Englishman before dropping out due to the level of interest in him.
It was also reported by 90min in July that Everton were still in contact over the defender.
“How do you feel about transfers or rumours about you?,” Romano asked. “So in the summer, we had many clubs interested from different countries looking at you.”
Aarons replied: “For some players it can be a distraction but for me, I’ve had this for years now since I started to play on this level. It can give you confidence but for me, it’s just about playing the best I can on the pitch.”
Romano: “Max, we had rumours from different clubs. We had Manchester United rumours, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, different countries, top clubs. Do you see one day the idea of playing abroad maybe?”
Aarons: “For sure.
“To play in another league, in a league abroad at some point during my career would be amazing.
“But at the moment I’m loving playing in the Premier League with Norwich.”

Ideal Coleman successor
This was an interview that is likely to pique the interest of Everton fans given the requirement to sign a new right-back.
Seamus Coleman is the club captain but he is now 33 and has suffered a few niggling injuries over the last few years which has seen the likes of Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate shift over from central defence in order to cover for him.
Romano has admitted Everton’s interest in Aarons before while many other news outlets have reported that the Blues have wanted to sign him previously.
Norwich may not be performing well in the Premier League, but Aarons is still one of their leading lights, and if the Canaries suffer a second relegation in two seasons, he’s surely likely to be on his way out.
Everton must make sure they are in the front of the queue for his signature next summer, and do not allow him to make the switch abroad at this stage of his career.
