Richarlison ‘happy and available’ for Everton selection v Watford

Everton attacker Richarlison has been declared available for the Watford clash on Saturday by Rafa Benitez.

The Brazilian was back in training after an injury but the Spaniard admits that he’s unsure about his match fitness.

Regarding Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Benitez shares that he doesn’t expect him back for at least a month.

Via the Liverpool Echo, he said, “Obviously the match fitness is an issue but he [Richarlison] is happy and available for the visit of Watford.

“We have some issues. Dominic has a re-injury. how long he will be out? We need to see. We will not see him for four or five weeks, maybe. I don’t like to put a timeframe on it.”

Should he start?

There will be a desire from Benitez to get Richarlison back into the side as the club have lacked a reliable focal point in his absence.

Salomon Rondon has led the line, but has been far from impressive and the Spaniard will be happy to drop him to the bench.

However, he talks about the lack of match fitness, so the advice he would be getting could be to get him off the bench.

The game may have come too soon for him to play the full 90 or even to start and play either a half or an hour of the contest.

We hope that he’s not rushed back into the side as Calvert-Lewin is already likely to miss the next few games.

Richarlison has proven to be an extremely reliable talisman and it’s now his time to shine and lead the line.

It remains to be seen what the call Benitez takes on him but our recommendation would be to get him off the bench.
