Dominic Calvert Lewin posts message on Instagram; Kalvin Phillips reacts
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has taken to social networking site Instagram to send a heartfelt message to the Toffees fans.
Rafael Benitez confirmed in the press conference that Calvert-Lewin has suffered a setback in recovery and that he will remain out for several weeks.
The 24-year-old striker was side-lined by the quadriceps issue – along with a broken toe – during the opening month of the season, and he hasn’t featured since the final week of August.

The England striker has posted a heartfelt message on Instagram where he vented out his frustration for not being able to play.
Leeds United midfielder and Calvert-Lewin’s national teammate, Kalvin Phillips, has responded to his post. He wrote – “My boy speedy recovery.”

Major blow
Calvert-Lewin’s latest injury setback is a massive blow for Benitez and Everton. The Toffees are already missing Abdoulaye Doucoure with a foot injury, and losing their top striker for a prolonged period is a big blow.
The England striker scored in each of Everton’s opening three games of the season, and he will miss some key fixtures for the Toffees in the coming weeks.
It seems he will require another four to five weeks to return to training, and even then, he will require more time to regain his full sharpness.

Calvert-Lewin was the top scorer for Everton last season with 21 goals. It will be interesting to see if Benitez signs another striker in January to bolster the forward department.
The Toffees, however, will be boosted by the return of Richarlison after a five-game absence. Andre Gomes has also returned to training.
Everton will face Watford in their next Premier League game on Saturday where they will be looking to bounce to winning ways, having lost 1-0 against West Ham in their previous game.
In other Everton news, the club has been handed an injury boost with a ‘Fantastic’ player returning to training along with Richarlison
