Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United keen on Abdoulaye Doucoure

Rafa Benitez will be on edge at the reported growing interest in Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United are keen on signing the 28-year-old Frenchman.

Prior to his injury, Doucoure had been one of the most consistent midfielders in the Premier League and his absence will leave a gaping void in the Toffees side.

Benitez arrived on Merseyside with the understanding that the first summer would be a tight one in terms of money.

For the most part, he avoided losing his first-team players, barring James Rodriguez, who he never seemed to want to begin with.

However, Doucoure is the fulcrum that this team has been built around and when he ticks, the entire side seems to be in sync.

The energy he offers is second to none and he has the ability to run from one box to the other tirelessly for the full course of the game.

His partnership with Allan has also proven to be fruitful not just for Benitez but also for his predecessor Carlo Ancelotti, so losing him must not be considered as an option.

Doucoure has been so good that former Liverpool attacker Michael Owen has also got himself to praise him, labelling him as “outstanding” on Twitter.

The onus is now on Benitez to convince the 28-year-old to stay and also to improve the performances of this side, as he could fancy leaving for European football.
