GN View: Everton receive boost in the race to sign Marcus Thuram
Everton have been heavily linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram.
The 24-year-old was targeted in the summer transfer window, and earlier this month, Calciomercato reported that the Toffees are still keen to sign him in January.
Everton are looking to sign a replacement for James Rodriguez in January, and they have earmarked Thuram for that role.

According to latest reports from Calciomercato, the German club are interested in signing Noa Lang, as they are “convinced” Thuram will leave the club in January.
Massive boost
The news will come as a huge boost for Everton.
It is now clear about Monchengladbach’s transfer strategy and Everton must move ahead of other potential suitors to strike a deal for Thuram.
The Frenchman could be tempted to join a club that can offer him European football, but Rafael Benitez can still persuade him to make a switch to the Premier League with a good pay-package offer.
There’s no doubt about his quality. His teammate Denis Zakaria labelled him “phenomenal” in 2019 [Buli News], and in theory, he would be a good fit for the Toffees.
Thuram has made only two appearances in the Bundesliga this season, managing only 46 minutes of action. He can play as a left-sided attacking midfielder and as a forward, a position Everton need to strengthen in January.
He has a contract at the German club till 2023, and Everton should look to secure him at a decent price. Given his age, quality and transfer situation, Everton must not miss out on the opportunity to sign him in January.
