Everton want to sign Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram
Everton are reportedly keen on signing Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram.
According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, the 24-year-old, who has been capped by France at the senior level, is also on the radar of Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
The Toffees are seemingly keen on replacing James Rodriguez, and Thuram is among those being considered by them.
Marcus, the son of the legendary Lilian Thuram, is undoubtedly going to be compared to his father and the best way for him to put his name on the world stage is to shine in the most competitive league in Europe.
The lure of the Premier League is enough to tempt some of the best players in the world to jump ship and the 24-year-old, who was born in Parma [Italy] during his father’s five-year spell at the Serie A club, may even consider a move to Merseyside.
While the calibre of clubs interested in him are playing Champions League football, it could be a major stumbling block if the Toffees fail to even offer him European football next season.
That said, James’ departure has freed up their payroll which could mean they might offer Thuram wages that Dortmund and Inter fail to match.
The Frenchman, who made one appearance for Didier Deschamps’ side at the 2020 European Championship, is a quality player who’s got a tremendously high ceiling.
His teammate Denis Zakaria labelled him “phenomenal” in 2019 [Buli News], and we believe that he would be a perfect fit in the Premier League.
Hopefully, Marcel Brands tempts the player into moving to England over Italy or in the same country to join Dortmund.
