Everton ready to meet release clause of Ghanaian midfielder Iddrisu Baba
Everton are ready to trigger the release clause of Real Mallorca central midfielder Iddrisu Baba, according to Ghanasoccernet.
The online news outlet claims Baba, 25, is a long time target of Rafa Benitez, who came close to signing him during his brief tenure at Real Madrid.
Baba, capped five times by the Ghanaian national team, has a 45million Euros [£38.2million] release clause, something Everton are apparently ready to meet in order to have him in their squad next season.

Big money
Abdoulaye Doucoure’s recent injury has highlighted the lack of quality within the central midfield ranks at Everton.
In his absence, Allan has been partnered alongside Tom Davies, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Fabian Delph, all of whom have failed to impress or are not considered viable long-term options.
It’s such a crucial area of the pitch, but Everton have been found severely lacking in there without the Frenchman, leading to three successive losses.

Baba would certainly add some bite and dynamism to the midfield, though he only scored his first Mallorca goal on Sunday [31/10/21] in a 1-1 draw at Cadiz.
He has been at the La Liga side since 2018, and the fact his performances have caught the eye of Real Madrid, as well as Atletico Madrid, who identified him as a possible Thomas Partey replacement, bodes well.
However, £38.2million still seems like an exorbitant figure for someone who was plying his trade in the second division of Spanish football last season.
Perhaps the Blues can drive that price down, though a spectacular season with his current side, who are currently 12th in La Liga, could make that difficult.
