James Collins: Everton are in freefall

James Collins does not believe that he has seen anything that suggests Everton will beat Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Toffees have lost their last three league games and go into the Spurs clash as the underdogs.

Antonio Conte took over at the helm this week and will be looking to win his first Premier League game in charge of the North London club.

Speaking on Premier League Productions’ Friday night show, Collins, a Sky Sports pundit said, “Everton are in free fall at the moment. Really struggling. I don’t think Spurs will have to do too much to win. I predict an easy win for Conte’s men.”

Real struggle

Rafa Benitez wasn’t handed a fair chance to build this Everton side under his playing philosophy.

Due to FFP failures of managers and directors in the past, he barely had any money to strengthen the squad in the summer.

Add to that, he lost one of his best players James Rodriguez who was widely viewed as world-class up until a few years ago.

There’s nothing we’ve seen either that makes us believe that the Toffees will even pick up a point on Sunday.

While it may only be Conte’s second game in charge, his players seemed energetic and up for it in mid-week.

New manager bounce is a real thing and Everton may fear that they will be on the receiving end of this weekend.
