Everton man Jonjoe Kenny could be set for January exit

Everton man Jonjoe Kenny could be set for an exit from the club in January 2022, according to a new report.

The Liverpool Echo claim that the 24-year-old is out of favour with Rafael Benitez, and with the Toffees wanting to shift people from the wage bill, he could be sacrificed.

The right-back has only made three appearances for the Toffees this season in which he played for just 220 minutes, so it is no surprise to see him linked with a move away.

Kenny’s Everton career looks to be coming to an end.

Given that Seamus Coleman has missed three games this season and Kenny has only played once in the Premier League, it seems very clear that Benitez isn’t a fan of the right-back.

Kenny is from the Everton academy and has made 51 first-team appearances for the club.

However, it seems very unlikely that he will make any more before he either leaves in the summer or in January.

You would think the Toffees would hope to be able to sell him, but even if they can’t, just getting him off the wage bill could be seen as a success.

The right-back isn’t in Benitez’s plans, and the quicker he leaves, the better for all concerned, really.

He is still only 24 and can still have a long career at another club, but surely his time at Goodison Park is up.

Therefore, it will be intriguing to see what happens in January, but hopefully, the club will find a way to get rid of Kenny and make room in the squad for a player that Benitez actually wants.
