View: Everton must reignite interest in Diogo Dalot
Everton could be looking to sign a new right-back in January, and the Toffees should reignite their interest in Diogo Dalot.
During the summer transfer window, The Athletic reported that Everton were interested in signing the Portuguese international.
Dalot joined Manchester United for a fee of around £19million [BBC Sport] from Porto in 2018, but the move didn’t work for him.

Jose Mourinho previously hailed Dalot as “the best young full back in Europe” when he signed him for the club. However, the 22-year-old has struggled for regular games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Dalot previously spent time on loan at AC Milan. The Times have reported that Mourinho is planning to launch a bid to sign Dalot for AS Roma.
The Serie A giants want to sign him on loan, with a view to making it permanent. Dalot wants to fight for his place at Old Trafford but he will look at options if he continues to be overlooked by Solskjaer.
Everton should make a smart move for him in January and secure his signature, even on loan.

Seamus Coleman remains the first-choice right-back at the club, but the Toffees desperately need to sign a back-up option.
Jonjoe Kenny has failed to establish himself as a first-team player under Rafael Benitez and he could be sold in January.
Ben Godfrey can play at right-back, but he is best used to playing centrally. Dalot is a fantastic young talent, and Everton should try to lure him to Goodison Park with the offer of first-team football.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are plotting January loan-to-buy bid for a centre-mid hailed by Jack Grealish last month.
