Everton unlikely to allow Jordan Pickford leave for Tottenham Hotspur
Everton are unlikely to allow goalkeeper Jordan Pickford leave for Tottenham Hotspur, according to Sport Witness journalist Sean Lunt.
Per the Daily Telegraph, new Spurs manager Antonio Conte is eyeing Pickford as the successor to current number one Hugo Lloris.
The England international has two years left on his current deal and the Toffees could be in line for a profit, having signed him for £25million in 2017.
However, Lunt, via his personal Twitter account, wrote, “I can’t see Pickford being allowed to leave but if he were, I’d have Meslier high up my list.”
Pressure to sell?
Rafa Benitez has not had the luxury that his predecessor have had at Goodison Park, which is to spend big in the market.
They were all handed extravagant budgets to sign the best possible players willing to join Everton.
However, due to FFP constraints, he barely had a couple of million quid to spend and had to rely on free agents to strengthen his squad.
Add to that, he also lost one of his best players in James Rodriguez, and there is a chance that to spend big again, the club may have to cash in on an asset.

Pickford is at the prime age of 27 and could be Spurs’ number for the better part of this decade.
Daniel Levy is likely to back Conte in the market so Everton can demand a big transfer fee in order to sell him.
Whether or not that’s what they do, remains to be seen.
