Kevin Campbell: Tom Davies injury could lead to Everton debut for any youngsters
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that the door has been opened for never-before-seen Everton talents to make their mark.
Tom Davies has joined Abdoulaye Doucoure in the medical centre this week, leaving a real hole in the midfield for Rafa Benitez.
Campbell admitted that it is a real worry for the Toffees, but also a big opportunity for a younger player to come into the squad and make an impact.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I think it’s not great at the moment for Everton.
“Injuries are something that every team has to deal with but Everton are not blessed in that position because of that.
“It might give someone else an opportunity, a young lad to come in and stake his claim, you just never know – I think it just goes to show that Everton aren’t strong enough in that position.”

Who could it be?
Could Tyler Onyango finally get his chance in the Premier League?
We saw the young midfielder get his chance in the FA Cup last season, but a huge injury blow of his own really held back his progress at Goodison Park.
It has been reported over the last couple of days that the young midfielder has caught the eye of Benitez during the international break.
That could lead to him being handed a spot in the squad against Manchester City this weekend, but it is surely too big of a challenge to expect him to get any minutes.
It is a real opportunity for any of these young talents looking to stake a claim, but there will be one eye on Onyango this weekend, that’s for sure.
In other Everton news, Campbell was blown away by one Toffees man after what he did last week.
