Paul Merson predicts the outcome of Everton clash v Man City

Everton will travel to Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in the Premier League clash on Sunday.

Ahead of the match, popular football pundit, Paul Merson has predicted the outcome of the game.

The Sky Sports pundit has predicted a 3-0 victory for Pep Guardiola’s side, with little hope for the Toffees.

Merson has suggested that the Toffees are struggling at the moment, and they are certain to suffer heavily against one of the “best sides in the country”.

“Everton are struggling at the moment and are stuck in a bit of a rut. Ahead of this game, I can’t see anything other than a Manchester City win and I expect them to score a few goals as well,” wrote Merson for Sportskeeda.

“They are still amongst the best sides in the country and are once again gunning for the Premier League title, so they should be winning games like this.”

Rafa’s tactical masterclass

With no international break coming up till March, this is the most critical phase for all the clubs, as everyone will be looking to maintain some sort of momentum.

After the October international break, Everton failed to register a single win. They lost three in a row, suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Watford. They lost against West Ham and Wolves as well.

Prior to the break, they showed some resilience in the 0-0 draw against Tottenham at Goodison Park.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin still missing, it will be a difficult task to get all three points from their away visit. At the same time, City have dropped points at home this season.

City lost 2-0 at home against Crystal Palace and drew against Southampton this season. Everton can trouble them if they remain organised at the back and can sneak a goal somehow.

Benitez is known for getting his tactics spot on against big teams. They were compact against Spurs and could have won the game.

We picked up a good result the last time we visited Manchester. Can we do it again and prove Merson wrong?
