Everton Super Fans react to Lorenzo Insigne transfer link

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Everton Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Goodison News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Goodison Park.

Everton Super Fans are reacting to the news after the Toffees is being linked with a move for Lorenzo Insigne.

According to reports from Area Napoli (relaying from 7 Gold), Everton have a concrete interest in the attacking midfielder.

Earlier this month, Calciomercato reported that the Toffees were readying a bid for the Napoli winger.

Insigne spent his entire career at the Naples club after graduating from the club’s youth academy. He spent time on loan at Cavese, Foggia and Pescara in his earlier days.

The 53-times capped Italy international scored an outstanding goal for his country against Belgium during the Euro Championships this summer.

Like old wine, he is getting better with age. Last season, he scored 19 goals in 34 Serie A outings. It seems, he has picked up from where left off this summer, managing four in 11 this term.

He has a contract at the club till the end of the season, and there has been no indication that he will pen a new deal at the club.

Everton have reportedly presented him a lucrative offer of £5.1million net per season and £6million for his signature and image rights.

Benitez knows him very well, having coached him for two seasons at Napoli. Insigne has a few good years left in his locker, and he could be an outstanding signing for the Toffees in January.

We asked our panel of Everton Super Fans for their thoughts on the Insigne transfer link.

Heres’s what they had to say…

Everton spent just a measly fee of £1.8 million during the summer. Benitez is unlikely to be provided with a massive transfer kitty, but this is one deal they must get done over the line.

In other Everton news, a 2021 title-winning club have lined up a seven-figure deal for this big-money Blues international with contract terms set.
