Manchester City Super Fan predicts Everton clash

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Super Fans on upcoming Everton games. Ahead of Everton’s game against Manchester City in the Premier League, we caught up with their Super Fan Rabin whose Twitter handle is City_Rabin.

Everton will be looking to end their wretched run of form when they take on Manchester City this Sunday in the Premier League.

This would undoubtedly be the toughest challenge of Rafa Benitez’s Everton career thus far.

Anything bar a defeat would be seen as a good result for the Spaniard, but the likelihood of the Toffees coming away with anything is bleak.

Ahead of the game, we caught up with one of the Citizen’s Super Fans.

What have you made of Everton’s start this season?

Their start has been sub-par given the squad but understandable given the departure of Ancelotti and the horrible news around Sigurdsson. I think Benitez will turn things around and hopefully not from our game on Sunday.

Which players have impressed you?

Always love Fabian Delph but Richalison has this habit of getting under defenders’ skin. He’d be the one to watch out for.

What are your thoughts going into the game against Everton?

They’re a terrific team coming off a three-game losing streak and would be wanting to prove a point. With the attacking talent they have, they’ll always enter the game with a chance.

What does Benitez need to do to win the tactical battle v Guardiola? Any weakness in the City side you think can be exploited?

Pep’s main enemy is his own overthinking but the way we play we are susceptible to fast counter attacks and end up giving a goal to the first or second shot on target we face. So if they defend well and hit us on the counter there is a good chance of scoring against us.

One player from Everton you would like playing for City?

Dominic Calvert-Lewin. No doubt. Very clever and decisive in the box and fantastic with his head – both are qualities we lack.

Predictions for this one?

4-1 to Manchester City. I am sure it will be a battle to enjoy!

Tough one

A full-strength Toffees would’ve found it hard to beat City so one plagued with injuries will certainly not have an easy run.

Benitez is known to play a pragmatic brand of football and that’s what he will need for this contest.

Hopefully, the football Gods are kind on the Toffees and this game could be one where things begin to change for the better.
