Everton player ratings v Manchester City
Everton fell to a 3-0 defeat against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon at the Etihad.
The Toffees saw very little of the ball, but they were resolute at the back until Raheem Sterling scored just before half-time.
Rodri then added a second with a stunning strike.

Bernardo Silva completed the scoring with an easy third near the end of the match.
Rafael Benitez set up his side to sit and frustrate, and they managed to do that, but they didn’t offer enough going forward.
Here are our player ratings.
Jordan Pickford – 6
He made a couple of good saves in the first half, but his distribution put his side under pressure. He could do nothing about any of the goals.
Seamus Coleman – 5
He was penned in for the whole game. He managed to deal with what was thrown down his side.
Michael Keane – 4
A very average performance from Keane, and he nearly gave away a couple of penalties.
Ben Godfrey – 7 (MOTM)
The best of Everton’s back four. Dealt with everything thrown his way but couldn’t stem the tide on his own.
Lucas Digne – 5
Sterling went past him time and time again. He also barely got out of his half to provide service for Richarlison.
Anthony Gordon – 7
He worked so hard for his side. He always looked a threat when he got the ball and moved forward. He even managed to pinch the ball back on a few occasions.
Allan – 3
He worked hard in midfield; however, his poor clearance led to the second goal, and for some reason, he kicked the ball out of play in the second half when Bernardo Silva was faking an injury.

Fabian Delph – 4
He was caught on the ball on many occasions and was overwhelmed by the City midfield. A poor display.
Demarai Gray – 6
He looked lively until he was brought off with an injury. The last thing Benitez needed.
Andros Townsend – 5
He was deployed in behind Richarlison but saw very little of the ball. He didn’t close Joao Cancelo down for the goal.
Richarlison – 5
He looked lost upfront on his own with no support. He then let his frustrations get the better of him, and he won’t play against Brentford next week.
Subs
Alex Iwobi – 4 (17)
He was brought on to the field very early into the game and played on the right. He was dreadful in the first half. However, he was better in the second.
Salomon Rondon – 6 (63)
He provide a presence that Everton didn’t have and allowed Richarlison to get in the game more. However, he can’t do anything unless someone provides him with some service!
Tyler Onyango – N/A (90)
In other Everton news, Gary Neville was baffled by one moment in the first half involving Gordon.
