Farhad Moshiri does not want to sack Rafa Benitez

A sacking is not on the cards at Everton with Rafa Benitez’s future safe for the time being, according to Paul Brown.

The Daily Mirror journalist claims that sacking Benitez is the last thing that Farhad Moshiri wants, having been the man to bring him to the club.

He also believes that the Toffees are not looking at other managers in case they decide to part ways with the Spaniard.

Brown told Give Me Sport, “I think it’s probably too soon to suggest Everton are doing that [looking at other managers] now.

“I think they still believe Benitez can turn it around and I don’t think they want to be looking for a new manager, that’s the last thing Moshiri wants frankly.

“So it might be a few weeks before they have to start doing that.”

All the talks about his exit are premature, to say the least, and not something we’re bothered about.

Benitez had a good start in the first two months and since then has faced the brunt of a number of injuries.

Having close to no money to strengthen this squad in the summer, the Spaniard has not been dealt the best deck of cards at Goodison Park.

Hopefully, Moshiri and the board choose to back him in January as he has it in him to help us go to that next level.

Whether or not he will, remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to see how the squad fares once everyone’s back.

We know for sure that Benitez will not be sacked this season unless things go dramatically wrong and he finds himself facing the threat of relegation.
