Light at end of tunnel for Everton injury crisis - pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell believes Everton should start to improve in the coming weeks as more and more players return from injury.
The former Toffees striker acknowledges that his old club have a tough run of fixtures coming up, starting with an away game against Brentford, but he feels as if they will have enough to do well.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News about the upcoming fixtures and if the games were hard, he said: “Of course it is.
“Brentford away is always going to be a difficult game, but it’s their first season up; maybe a little bit of the shine has [worn] off, but they are still a capable side, and they will give you a tough game.
“So, it’s going to be really interesting what will happen with the teams and who Everton put out, but they are starting to get some light at the end of the tunnel with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Doucoure. Richarlison will be back after that game [Brentford].
“So, they will be starting to look a lot stronger, especially at the top end [of the pitch] and in midfield.”
The Toffees have failed to win in their last six league games and head to west London desperate for a win [Sky Sports].
However, the Bees haven’t won in five, so they have problems as well, meaning that this should be a fascinating encounter.
After that, the Toffees face the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea, but as Campbell mentioned, they should have all of their key players back and then perhaps we can see the true Everton.
In other Everton news, Abdoulaye Doucoure has sent out a cryptic message on Twitter as he edges closer to a return.
