Everton star Abdoulaye Doucoure posts cryptic Twitter message

Everton star Abdoulaye Doucoure has posted a hint on Twitter that he is close to a comeback.

The Frenchman has been missing since the Toffees’ 1-0 defeat to West Ham in mid-October, but it appears as if he could be back soon.

In his pre-match press conference, Rafael Benitez claimed that the 28-year-old was back in training and it appears as if Doucoure could return to the side against Brentford [Independent].

Tweeting on his verified account, he posted four emojis, one was an arrow with ‘soon’ underneath, one was a blue heart, one was a winking face, and the other was a muscle emoji, suggesting that he could be back in action in the near future.

Huge news for the Toffees.

Out of all the Toffees’ injured players this season, Doucoure has been the one they have missed the most.

They have failed to win any games without him, while they have massively missed his goals and assists from midfield.

The partners who have played alongside Allan in Doucoure’s absence have not lived up to the hype, and if the former Watford man returns soon, we wouldn’t be surprised if things quickly get better for Everton.

He has been so important to everything they have done so far this season, so though this tweet isn’t confirmation, we would expect to see Doucoure back in an Everton shirt very soon.

You would imagine that this will greatly please Rafael Benitez, who has turned Doucoure back into the box-to-box monster that the Toffees thought they signed last season.

So, we will have to wait and see what happens now, but it seems that the Toffees have finally received some positive injury news.

In other Everton news, Benitez has confirmed who will start upfront against Brentford.
