Everton target Donny van de Beek will not leave if Ralf Rangnick plays him

Everton could risk missing out on Donny van de Beek after Ralf Rangnick was announced as Manchester United manager, according to Fabrizio Romano.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Toffees are considering loan moves in January and have identified the Netherlands international as a possible option.

He wasn’t getting game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but things could change after Rangnick’s arrival on an interim basis.

Speaking about his future on the United Stand, Romano, the Sky Sports Italy journalist said, “I am 100 per cent sure that Donny van de Beek loves the club, wants to show his skills to the new manager. He’s also changed his agent who’s looking for a new challenge in Italy and Spain.

“He wants to fight for Man United and I am sure he will do it under Rangnick. If Rangnick plays him, he will be prepared to stay and commit to Man United.”

Seems unlikely now

Van de Beek would have been a terrific signing for the Toffees and would add much-needed creativity from the middle of the park.

However, Rangnick is a smart manager and unlike Ole, he will know how to deal with a player of the Dutchman’s calibre.

He was touted by some of the world’s biggest clubs before his move to Old Trafford so there’s a very good chance that the new manager is impressed by what he sees of the attacking midfielder.

However, in case the German doesn’t like what he sees, that would open the door for him to leave the club.

His agents are currently looking to get him a club outside the Premier League, but there’s still nothing about whether or not he would like to stay put in England.

With James Rodriguez gone, Everton have space on their wage bill to sign a creative player and ideally, van de Beek should be their primary target.
