Don Hutchison delivers strong verdict on Everton situation

Don Hutchison has suggested that Everton never stood a chance against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby clash last night.

The Toffees lost 4-1 against the Reds in the Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

Hutchison has suggested that Everton have wasted their money on poor transfers, and it’s over to Marcel Brands to rectify that.

The BT Sport pundit wrote on Twitter: “The saddest part of the Merseyside derby last night… was the brutal realisation that Everton never stood a chance!

“I saw a banner at Goodison saying ‘we demand nil Satis Nisi optimum’ – now that’s the truth!”

“[Farhad] Moshiri has spent half a billion. Over to you Marcel Brands.”

Brutal verdict

Everton fans voiced their frustration after the game. Fans chanted “sack the board”, while one fan got involved in a heated exchange with Marcel Brands.

The Toffees are winless in their last eight games in the Premier League, and the pressure is mounting on Rafa Benitez.

Hutchison, who works for Premier League Tv production, is absolutely spot on here. The fans have every right to get angry.

Farhad Moshiri has spent millions on transfers, and yet the squad is simply not good enough.

There is also another viewpoint. Some fans and pundits feel that it is Benitez who is at fault for failing to get the best out of these players.

Benitez spent less than £2 million on players in the summer, and doubts remain about whether he will be allowed to make big signings in January as well.

Everton will face the likes of Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Chelsea in their next three games, and one can’t help but wonder from where the next win will come.

In other Everton news, the Blues are open to the sale of this popular first-team Blues star amid ongoing issues.
