Kevin Campbell drools over Everton duo Demarai Gray and Abdoulaye Doucoure
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has showered heaps of praise on Everton duo Demarai Gray and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The former Toffees striker has suggested that Doucore adds “another dimension” to the side, while it was good to have Gray back into the team as well.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell revealed that those two were the rare positives from the last game. He said: “Yeah, it was great to see Doucoure back.
“He adds another dimension in the midfield. [It was also] good to see Demarai Gray come on, he put in a couple of delicious balls in that box as well.
“And you know there’s nobody even attempted to get to the end of it. That’s the crazy thing.
“When he is on the ball, you should be able to keep gamble in the box, so, good to see those two come back, and get minutes.
“Doucoure got the full 90 minutes which is testimony to his fitness. Good to see Demarai Gray come on and do pretty well.”
The return of Gray and Doucoure is a massive boost for the Toffees.
Gray picked up an abductor injury against Manchester City and it was initially feared that he would be out for five to six weeks.
However, he made a quick recovery, and did well against Brentford. Likewise, Everton missed Doucoure’s tigerish presence in midfield.
The rest of the players should raise their game and we can see why Campbell is so effusive about the duo.
