Michael Ball reacts to Everton 4-1 loss v Liverpool

Michael Ball has suggested on Twitter that Everton players always put themselves under pressure after a humiliating defeat last night.

The Toffees suffered a 4-1 defeat against derby rivals Liverpool in the Premier League clash on Wednesday night at Goodison Park.

It was a gutless performance from the home team, with many fans having left the stadium inside 20 minutes.

Ball wrote on Twitter: “I’ve never known a team make playing football look so difficult.

“We always put our own teammates under pressure.

“Our decision making needs to improve rapidly all over the pitch ASAP.”

Spot on

While Everton fans directed their anger on the board, suggesting that a change is required, Ball has pointed out problems on the pitch.

Everton are missing some of their important players, but that cannot hide away the fact the overall football and playing style have been so poor under Rafael Benitez.

The decision making needs to improve, and it seems there is a lack of cohesion among the players.

Having failed to win their last eight games in the league, the confidence has dried up. There is no leadership on the pitch.

It has been well documented that Benitez hasn’t had the luxury to buy players of his choice in the summer, given he only spent less than £2 million on new players.

However, one cannot help but wonder was Benitez at all the right choice for the club.

Commonly perceived as a tactical genius, Benitez is generally a defensive-minded manager, whose tactics and philosophy are simply not working.

With games like Arsenal, Crystal Palace, and Chelsea to follow next, it’s hard to see where the next victory will come from.

In other Everton news, the Toffees are plotting January loan-to-buy bid for centre-mid hailed by Jack Grealish last month.
