Rafa Benitez delivers latest Everton injury update ahead of Arsenal clash
Everton will face Arsenal in the Premier League clash on Monday night at Goodison Park.
Ahead of the game, Rafa Benitez has delivered (3 December) the latest injury update.
Salomon Rondon and Yerry Mina are set to be assessed ahead of the visit of the Gunners.
The Spaniard has also revealed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will need at least a couple of weeks before he can return to action.
“Yerry Mina has today done part of the training session and is getting closer. We are still assessing Rondon. We need to wait for the scan to see how he’s doing,” said Benitez, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
Everton defeated Arsenal twice in the league last time, but it will be difficult this time around.
The Gunners are fighting for the top-four spot, and they will be looking to return to winning ways after losing to Manchester United.
The Toffees are once again missing Calvert-Lewin.
With Rondon possibly out injured as well, Benitez is short of options up front.
In all probability, Richarlison will start as a lone striker.
The Toffees are without a win in their last eight games and the pressure is mounting on Benitez.
The fans chanted “sack the board” during their 4-1 defeat against Liverpool, and another poor result against the Gunners would be a catastrophe.
Benitez has got the backing of Farhad Moshiri, as of now, but there is a feeling among fans that he hasn’t got the best of his existing players.
