Simon Jordan rips into Farhad Moshiri’s ownership of Everton

Simon Jordan has torn into Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and called out the numerous mistakes that he has made.

Speaking on talkSPORT [06 December], the former Crystal Palace owner went in hard on Moshiri, and it is very clear that he blames him for the club’s problems.

This rant followed the news that Marcel Brands had left Goodison Park, and Jordan didn’t hold back in his assessment of the Toffees’ owner.

He said: “The problem with Everton Football Club is Moshiri. I think Moshiri has spent money. I think Moshiri doesn’t know how to run Everton.

“From the managers, he’s employed to the transfers that he’s sanctioned. Who in their right mind brings Benitez to Everton?

“You’ve got no youth development policy; you’ve got no managerial policy; you’ve got no director of football policy; you’ve got no financial policy.

“This is a club irrespective of the heritage and livery and sometimes beauty of this club that is going absolutely the wrong way.

“They won’t get relegated; there’s too much quality there, but what a waste of time the last four years [have] been.”

Jordan is spot on.

This is an absolutely brutal assessment of Moshiri’s time at Goodison, but it is pretty much spot on, and the Toffees are in this mess because of him.

Now, the point about relegation probably will turn out to be correct, but as its stands, they are in a relegation dogfight unless they can start picking up wins.

However, all of the other stuff is spot on, and it seems incredible that Moshiri has spent so much and ended up in this position.

Everton

If you look at the first team, you can see that they have one senior right-back, one senior left-back and only two first-team strikers.

Now, whatever way you look at it, that isn’t good enough at any level, never mind the Premier League.

So, this is an incredible rant from Jordan, but it is hard to argue with anything he said, and the club looks to be in a mess.

In other Everton news, the Toffees are keen on signing a new right-back watched by numerous Premier League clubs.
