Everton desperate to sign ex-Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum in January amid PSG struggles
Everton have been approached by the representatives of PSG midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum ahead of the January transfer window, according to 90min.
Wijnaldum, 31, only joined the French giants from Everton’s bitter rivals Liverpool in the summer, but the Netherlands international has failed to nail down a regular starting role at the Parc de Princes.
Indeed, with Wijnaldum “increasingly concerned” about his lack of game time under Mauricio Pochettino, his intermediaries have begun working on a potential loan move for him in January.

Rafa Benitez is said to be “ready to go to battle” with his former club Newcastle United over Wijnaldum.
Talks are set to take place at PSG over Wijnaldum’s future with an exit not yet guaranteed, and even if he does leave, it is claimed clubs would have to cover a “significant” portion of his hefty wages”.

Controversial
This is a transfer that certainly wouldn’t go down well with those at Anfield.
During his five years at Liverpool, Wijnaldum lifted the Premier League and Champions League titles and earned adulation for his industrious performances in the middle of midfield.
He’s no stranger to Benitez, either, after the pair worked together at Newcastle in the 2015/16 campaign.
The question is – would he risk the wrath of Liverpool fans, and would Toffees take to him as an ex-Red?
Well, after Benitez arrived at Goodison Park during the summer, nothing can be ruled out.
Indeed, signing a player still in their pomp who could cause damage to the Reds would surely be welcomed, and Wijnaldum would walk into the Blues midfield to form a formidable trio with Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Wijnaldum has scored 145 goals in his career so far for club and country [Transfermarkt] and would add presence at both ends of the field for the Blues.
