Lucas Digne sends message to Everton fans after Crystal Palace defeat

Lucas Digne has urged his Everton teammates to keep their heads up and prepare for the next game after they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Rather than building on the win against Arsenal, the Toffees took a step backwards and capitulated against the London outfit on Sunday.

Rafa Benitez, whose spat with Digne has hit a fever pitch, once again left the Frenchman out of his matchday squad.

After the defeat, Digne took to Twitter to write, “Head up and fight again the game come quick we have to do the same like against Arsenal.”

Must return

Digne’s absence was quite obviously felt in the loss against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

No matter who plays at left-back and how they fare there, they’re not going to offer what the Frenchman, an out-and-out left-back does.

He’s formed a seamless understanding with the likes of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Without him, this side does not look menacing at all in the final third and the blame for that lies on Benitez.

He’s got to reconcile quickly with the Frenchman or he could risk losing his job at the club.

Digne is one of their best players and it’s a no-brainer to start him whenever he’s fit and available.
