Juventus want to sign Everton defender Lucas Digne

Juventus are reportedly keen on signing Everton left-back Lucas Digne after his recent falling out with Rafa Benitez.

According to Italian media outlet Spazio Inter, the Serie A giants have been monitoring the 28-year-old’s situation for a while.

The source is an online Inter Milan fanzine with insider knowledge on the club and have been reputable by fans on social media.

The Athletic reported on December 8 that the Frenchman had a dispute with Rafa Benitez which led to him being left out of the Premier League win over Arsenal.

Hope he stays

It was apparent that once news of this falling out becomes public that there were going to be reports about different clubs showing an interest in signing him.

Digne is one of the best players at Everton and one could make a case that he is one of their few Champions League level talents.

Over the past two seasons, he’s also been their best chance creating outlets and his absence is bound to cost the team.

While Ben Godfrey did well in his instead against the Gunners, he is not a left-back by trade and it’s not sustainable to play him there for a considerable amount of time.

In an interview with Liverpool Echo in 2018, Digne’s agent labelled the player as “phenomenal”.

There’s no denying that he’s way better than the player he was three years ago and if he does end up going to Juventus, he will be a success there.

They’re owned by the super-rich and successful Agnelli family and would be able to give him an impressive pay hike.
