Kevin Campbell worried about Lucas Digne's Everton future

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell believes it is possible that Everton will sell Lucas Digne in January.

The former Toffees forward claimed that he doesn’t like hearing about players and managers falling out with each other.

However, he also thinks that if Rafael Benitez decides he needs funds in January, Digne could go.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said: “Yeah, possibly.

“I don’t like what I am seeing regarding the manager falling out with players, but if that’s what the manager has to do to generate results, that’s what he’s got to do.

“Fans might not like it. I don’t like it, but it is what it is at the end of the day because of FFP, managers have to box clever in their recruitment, so they’ve got to generate the funds somehow.”

Digne and his manager apparently had a full-blown argument in front of each other recently, and he hasn’t played since the Merseyside derby against Liverpool [The Athletic].

So, it doesn’t look too good and with a few clubs sniffing around, could it be time for Everton to cash in [Spazio Inter]?

Certainly, it appears as if Digne is out of favour, and a move in January could be best for all parties.

This will be something that we keep a close eye on because Campbell could be spot on, and we might not see the Frenchman in an Everton shirt again.
